Volunteer
Volunteering through Oasis provides a safe, secure way to contribute to the well-being of the world’s poorest children.
Unlike other volunteer programs, all costs associated with your stay benefit member homes; other than a small administrative fee to cover overhead, Oasis ensures that the majority of financial capital is invested directly in the member home.
The diversity of our member homes is reflected in the diversity of projects. Volunteers will be placed in the home where their special skills and preferences can be most effective. Located in urban slums and rural farms, caring for 12 or 150 children, our Member Homes represent the true diversity of Kenya, both as a country and a culture. Regardless of project description and location, all volunteers will have the opportunity to connect with the children and local culture in a safe, supportive atmosphere.
Volunteer OpportunitiesJust as there are diverse issues facing the world’s orphaned children, the homes in the Oasis program are varied in the way they respond to and care for needy children. The range of our member homes is reflected in the variety of projects available to volunteers.

Education Assist teachers in the classroom, work with individual students before and after school, lead projects and coordinate sports programs.
Social Work Assist social workers in community outreach projects, work to reintegrate and reunite children with guardians, serve as a liaison between orphanage and schools, research and apply for educational opportunities and scholarships for promising students
Medical Assist in orphanage-run medical clinics, dispensaries and in basic first aid care. More extensive opportunities are available for trained and experienced medical professionals.

Health and Human Services Provide informal counseling to abandoned and abused children. Formal counseling opportunities also available to trained professionals.
Business Administration Assist with general administrative duties, volunteer outreach, research and lead fundraising initiatives, grant & proposal writing and accounting/financial practices.
